In addition to the announcement that the Hawksbill Resort will undergo refurbishment, Rex Resorts recently announce that the hotel will become part of The Caribbean Beach Cottage Collection under the management of Andrew Michelin and his team effective April 10th 2023.
"Michelin and Nigel Trellis (Managing Director) have extensive experience in Antigua, and we are excited to be part of the Caribbean Beach Cottage Collection that includes Cocos Hotel and Keyonna Beach Resort," a release from Rex Resort management stated.
Caribbean Beach Cottage Collection will be responsible for all sales and marketing and the day-to-day management of the hotel as well as overseeing the refurbishment program. Therefore, all rates and contracts from 10th April 2023 for Hawksbill will be issued by the new management team who can be contacted at admin@hawksbillresortantigua.com. Reservations notified on or after 10th April 2023 should be sent to reservations@hawksbillresortantigua.com and copied to res.hawksbill@rexresorts.com.
Management said it is looking forward to improving Hawksbill to ensure it can offer the best facilities as an upper three star resort. The detailed timetable for the renovation program is still to be finalized, but the hotel will close effective from April 10th, 2023, to reopen October 28th 2023. During the closure supporting infrastructure of the hotel will be upgraded including the addition of a Reverse Osmosis plant to provide its own water production. A new swimming pool will be built with magnificent views across the bay and bedroom renovation will also commence on the Superior Seaview rooms and the Beach Club rooms.
